Ha! I had the same reaction yesterday when they had Earth Day specials on GMA and one of them was some company that had colouring pages you could print out for the kids. Yeah! Let’s kill some trees in celebration of Earth Day! My feeling is, if you’re going to waste some paper, why not do it a little early on 4/20 and beat the crowd?

Coincidentally, BITD the real Diablo would have a permanent case of colourful nut-titis usually caused by the high school across the street. Quite often it was rainbow-ish in hue. Good clean fun!

I rarely get downtown anymore, but I was there last week and Diablo’s junk was amazingily unmolested. I remarked to my mom that they must have really cracked down on those teenagers….or maybe the teenagers spent more time smoking crack and huffing the paint these days rather than using it to beautify the business area of the General’s mount….

    • I’m not sure you ever told me that Diablo’s statue was anatomically correct… in fact, I’m sure you didn’t, because I can’t imagine I’d have forgotten a tidbit like that. I guess rainbow balls are better than blue ones…

I was a little disappointed with the schwantz on your comic, but than I realized that with your attention to detail, I probably never shared that one.

And they were often just blue. Funny thing is, the rest of the statue and pedestal were never marked. It was like an unwritten law that the General and D were to be respected and only the nads were up for grabs.

Maybe that’s it. Kids today are just too lazy and unfit from sitting on their asses with their mobile devices all day and can’t be bothered to figure out how to scale a big ass statue in the middle of an intersection without a sherpa.

  4. hahahahahah that’s the naked reality… sadly…

  5. draliman says:

Thank goodness we humans aren’t like that! Oh, wait.
At least it was all in a good cause.

  6. NotAPunkRocker says:

    Scarily accurate…

  7. JackieP says:

    That’s the truth.

  8. Trisha says:

Yep! That’s the way of our species of critterkind!

  9. Mental Mama says:

This is particularly appropriate today for me seeing as I just had to throw out someone elses two week old takeout from the office fridge. 😦

  10. Uh-oh, I hope that wasn’t one of our picnics. My characters do like to party hard. 🙂

  11. You really ARE the heir to Walt Kelly.

  12. Reblogged this on SERENDIPITY and commented:
Then came the day after Earth Day …

    A work from our sponsor!

  13. gentlestitches says:

“the road to hell is paved with good intentions!” HaHa! 😀

  14. Timeless and getting a well-deserved rerun tomorrow. Because the earth is still hanging around when the holiday is over. So far, so good.
